We warmly invite you to Kufunda Learning Village Gathering in January 2026—to step into an experience of community that is alive, rooted, and deeply human.

In Shona, there is a saying: “It takes a community to raise a child.” This is Ubuntu—the recognition that we become fully ourselves only through each other. At Kufunda, we are excited to welcome you into this living wisdom: to slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect with yourself, with others, and with the land.

This gathering is a celebration—of the simplicity of life, of African culture, and of the beauty that emerges when we come together.

Together we will experience what it means to belong to community.

The Learning Village gathering is a space where community and co-creative practice are at the heart of our time together. 

We will spend time in nature, work in the garden, make art, engage in dialogue, cook together, dance, sing, and so much more - All arising out of our collective learning village field. There will also be an opportunity to work together on an eco-building that embodies our culture and way of life. 

What to Expect

This gathering is a co-creative practice. We craft our days together, balancing work and play, learning and resting, doing and being — in the process, we remember the living gifts of community.

Our time is self-organised around a simple daily structure:

Mornings: Connecting and Mapping

Morning practice OFFERINGS followed by a morning circle. 

Then an Open Space session where each day's explorations and offerings are mapped

Days: Being in Village Together 

Conversations,  Art making, Time in the garden, cooking together,  eco-building work, nature walks, space for rest. You choose which sessions to join, when to rest, and how to engage.

Evenings: Stories and song

Gathering around the fire to share stories, songs, music, movement 

You are invited to bring your gifts, your questions, and explorations.

Some sessions will be offered by the hosting team—many will emerge from participants.
