COMING TOGETHER IN COMMUNITY
Kufunda is a learning centre and village, living our way into what it takes to create healthy vibrant community in Zimbabwe, and beyond. We are living the future that we each long for. Through this we are learning valuable approaches and practices for individual and collective health and well-being way beyond our village. We are discovering a great power in a community that collectively chooses to move towards health and possibility. Many of our community processes are built on a foundation of appreciation, celebrating the best of what is, and from there dreaming what may be possible as we build on these foundations.
These very processes has built our village from initially a training centre, to be a place where we now have a biodynamic farm, a Waldorf inspired school, host regular women's and men's circles for ourselves and the wider community, are teaching and practicing eco-building, wood saving stoves, compost toilets and more more.
We are 102 people living together on a 117 acre piece of land, with 109 children coming to school daily from our neighbouring community. Living the Future Today.

Kufunda is a beautiful venue, located in the middle of nature, held by big granite boulders, and msasa woodlands. People speak of how after just a few hours at Kufunda, they feel much more peaceful and quiet and connected -
enabling them to go deeper into learning and co-creation.
Many call Kufunda one of the best kept secrets of Zimbabwe. It is time we change that! In addition to our own many programmes, we are also open for other organisations renting Kufunda as a workshop or retreat venue.
Our rates are very affordable, and our place is magic. It is basic and simple, but full of the goodness of the natural environment with all your most essential needs.

Maaianne is an experienced facilitator and designer of group learning and co-creation processes. She is passionate about supporting people in coming together in more authentic and life-affirming ways. Maaianne’s story bridges Europe and Africa in an arc that travels from Copenhagen, where she studied international business, to Zimbabwe, where she co-founded Kufunda. Her work in hosting creative and generative processes, including conscious dance, mindfulness, and time in nature supports individuals in waking to who they are and what they can be within their communities - moving towards a more just and beautiful world.”
