Root Into Kufunda - Rise into your world

I'm just back from an extraordinary gathering — a conference where we were remembering our shared future together. One of the strongest themes from the week was sacred hospitality brought in strongly by Orland Bishop: Sawubona. I see you.

Do we really see each other in our encounters? To truly see each other is to see and open to emerging futures. As you know one of our core movements at Kufunda is to ever be living into the emerging future: Living the Future Now.

160 people from across Africa and the world came together, in community, opening portals to possibility, not tomorrow's possibility but possibility right here, in an open way of being together that itself creates space for the emerging future

And I realised: this is what we are living, every day, at Kufunda. Often only in moments, and not always successfully — conflict and misunderstanding still exist. But when we truly host ourselves and our space, something lifts. We rise into that place of being — of shared hosting of potential and possibility.

This August, we are expanding that invitation. We are hosting Rooting and Rising — a two-week gathering for young people, hosted in collaboration with Planetary Services.

Not three days. Not five days. Two weeks. A gathering for young people — young people who, perhaps like all of us, are finding this world somewhat concerning and alarming. Young people from many different walks of life, many lands, coming together in a learning village in Zimbabwe. To be together. To host a Future-Now into being.

This is an invitation. Please share it with any young ones you know.

Two weeks, to really see, receive, and celebrate each other. There is something that gets drawn out of a person in community, that cannot emerge when one is on one's own. And there is something about the land of Kufunda, about the earth and soil of Africa, that is very, very potent in that gesture of becoming who we each truly are, in community.
