Join the Pioneer CAF Cohort Zimbabwe 2027–2029

Help grow a movement for healing, creativity and resilient communities in Zimbabwe
We are excited to be launching Zimbabwe's first Community Art Facilitator (CAF) Training Programme, and we are looking for committed people who believe in the power of creativity, human connection and community to strengthen mental well-being and social healing.
Community Art Facilitation combines visual arts with psychosocial support to help individuals and communities reconnect with their own strengths, resilience and capacity to shape a healthier future. CAFs work with children, young people, adults and communities using art processes that foster belonging, hope and personal growth. No artistic talent is required—only a willingness to learn, facilitate and serve others.
Over three years, we will train a pioneering group of Community Art Facilitators who will lay the foundation for a national CAF movement in Zimbabwe. From this first cohort, eight participants will be selected and mentored as future CAF Trainers, enabling the programme to grow sustainably and reach communities throughout the country.
The programme is led by Angela Katschke, an experienced Art Therapist, founder of Butterfly Art Project (BAP) in South Africa and developer of BAP’s Community Art Facilitator Training who has worked internationally in the field of art-based psychosocial support. Angela brings 30 years of expertise in facilitating creative processes for healing and community resilience, and will guide participants through this transformative learning journey.
Foundation Workshop
Your journey begins with a two-day Foundation Workshop. During these two days you will experience the CAF approach through practical creative processes, deepen your understanding of psychosocial support through art, meet fellow participants, and explore whether this learning journey is right for you.
Participation in the Foundation Workshop is the first step towards joining the Pioneer CAF Cohort Zimbabwe 2027–2029.
