Joining the Kufunda Circle of Friends
I write today with an invitation to step a little closer to the world and work of Kufunda Village, through joining our circle of friends.
For many years I have been feeling a need to share more fully some of the gifts and lessons of our ever evolving learning village. We are finally ready to step into that sharing. Technology is making it possible for us to connect to the world in a way that feels more natural and easeful for us. We can make use of the podcast and the photojournal to share our journey more fully. It feels so exciting to be able to give voice to, and make visible what is moving and breathing here in our learning village in Zimbabwe.
Each month we will record a sharing of what we are learning, visually or with voice. Our invitation to you is through Patreon to make a commitment to contribute financially each month (no amount is too small), to strengthen the work of our learning village. When you join using this way, it is my sense that you are giving much more than your money. You are making a statement of support to the work and learning of Kufunda in the world. To those of you that are already contributing (annually or monthly), thank you - and please continue with your gifting as is.
To kick us off, I have recorded a brief introductory piece reflecting on my learning from Kufunda of living our way into the future today. Our journey here is, in essence, about living more fully Now: Living in this moment in a way that is an expression of all that we long for. Right here and now. This is of course an utterly impossible task, but as we keep walking and working from this aspiration, we are opening into a Wider Now and through this the portal to the future that we long for opens. We are in fact that portal.
Romantic as it may sound, it requires willingness, commitment, and even a doggedness to keep showing up, to be here with care, joy and presence.
As I re-listened to the piece that I recorded today, I realise that I am perhaps speaking to a quantum reality in which it is all Now. And so one could say that we, here at Kufunda, are exploring and practicing, what it takes to live into Now as fully, as openly, as joyfully and honestly as possible, moment to moment, day to day. In the midst of Covid. In the midst of breakdown. In the midst of all that is. Learning to live our longing.
I close with Arundhati Roy whom I misquoted slightly in my reflection (the essence remains the same):
ANOTHER WORLD IS NOT ONLY POSSIBLE, SHE IS ON HER WAY.
ON A QUIET DAY, IF I LISTEN VERY CAREFULLY, I CAN HEAR HER BREATHING”
I can hear her breathing
I look forward to being with you on Patreon, and our journey into Now.
