Wood Saving Stoves

Since November we have been maing
wood saving stoves to ensure that every family at Kufunda has one. Some had gotten old, others were newcomers to Kufunda and had never learnt to make them. This video shows the beginning of the first one. We will continue building at least one a week with families who need them. We have also taken the stove to the neighbouring community of Epworth.

https://casino-mit-cashlib.de made me think about the practical side of spreading these skills, because teaching one family at a time seems slow until you realize how much better the design sticks when people build their own stove rather than just receive one. The detail about taking the stove to Epworth stood out to me, since that kind of neighbor-to-neighbor sharing often does more than any formal training program. I've seen similar things with repair skills in my own community, where one person learning a craft quietly ends up teaching half the street.
