Healing with the land
Biodynamic farming as a practice of community, learning, and regeneration.

KUFUNDA FARMING
The Farm as a Living Whole
At Kufunda our work with farming is so much more than only growing food. Operating as a biodynamic organism, we see and treat Kufunda as an individual whole — with most of what we need for farming coming from the farm itself.
We began our biodynamic journey in 2018, expanding from organic practice into a way of farming that that has deepened our relationship with the land as a living being to be in relationship with.
Biodynamics works with the rhythms of the cosmos — the sun, the moon, the stars — as well as the living processes of the soil. It produces not just food, but vitality. And that vitality is something you can taste, feel, and see in the health of the foo and the community that grows from it.

You can learn with us through workshops, farm visits, volunteering, or community membership. However you arrive, you'll be joining a living community of practice
Farming as a Living Practice
We see the farm as a living organism, where healthy soil, thriving ecosystems and vibrant community grow together. These are some of the principles that guide our work.
Biodynamic Preparations
We make and apply BD preparations to replenish the soil, enliven the earth, and bring the farm into relationship with the cosmic rhythms.
Indigenous
wisdom
We integrate biodynamic methods with indigenous agricultural knowledge — honouring what Zimbabwean farmers have always known.
Land Stewardship
We protect existing woodland and wetland, and practise holistic land management — keeping the ecosystem intact for people, animals, and future generations.
Learning By Doing
The farm is a classroom. Farmers, school children, community members, and international visitors all learn here — through observation, practice, and shared reflection.
Growing Community
We are learning how to create meaningful ways for people to belong—to the land and to the ongoing life of Kufunda.

A living classroom for regenerative farming
Our farm is a place of continual learning. As a demonstration farm, we welcome farmers, community members, students and visitors to learn through observation, practice and shared experience. From compost making and soil health to the principles and practice of biodynamic farming, we offer regular workshops rooted in the realities of our own land.
Learning also happens every day through our village life. Our school children work alongside the farm, with each class from Grade 3 tending its own vegetable beds and learning first-hand the joys of cultivating goodness from the land.

community supported agriculture
Support the farm that feeds you. As a member of our Community Supported Farm, you'll enjoy seasonal produce and village-made products while helping to grow healthy soil, local livelihoods and regenerative farming.
Our harvest includes seasonal vegetables, grains, herbs, preserves, fermented foods, herbal remedies and biodynamic preparations, reflecting the rhythms of the land.
Greensouth - a regional collaboration
GreenSouth is a regional learning initiative connecting practitioners across Zimbabwe, Mozambique and South Africa to strengthen organic and biodynamic farming in Southern Africa.
Together with our partners, we are developing a vocational Training of Trainers programme that combines practical farming skills with regenerative leadership and participatory learning. Through GreenSouth, Kufunda is also growing as a biodynamic resource centre for Zimbabwe, supporting farmers through training, outreach and the local production of biodynamic preparations.
The land is always teaching. Come and Learn
Whether you are a farmer, a curious visitor, or an organisation wanting to learn with us — you are welcome here.
Come and see. Come and learn. Come and get your hands in the soil.
